Login or Register to make a submission.

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • Manuscripts must be submitted online through the journal’s submission system. First-time users must register (free and mandatory). Registered authors can track their submissions using their login credentials. No submission fees are charged. For technical issues, authors may contact the editorial office by email at jmabsjournal@gmail.com
  • [1] Title Page/First Page File/covering letter: The Title Page should include the type of manuscript (e.g., original article, case report, case series, meta-analysis, systematic review, review article, letter to the editor, images, etc.), the full title of the manuscript, and a short running title.
  • The names of all authors/contributors and affiliation should be indicated as a footnote to the respective author’s name.
  • The corresponding author must provide complete contact, including full mailing address, office/mobile phone number and email address.
  • All acknowledgments and Conflicts of Interest should be included at the Title Page and may include supporting grants, presentations, and so forth.
  • Authors must obtain prior approval from a recognized Institutional Ethics Committee/Review Board for studies involving human participants or animals and clearly state the approval number and consent details in the manuscript.
  • [2] Blinded Article file: The main text of the article, beginning from Abstract till References (including tables) should be in this file. The file must not contain any mention of the author(s) names or initials or the institution at which the study was done or acknowledgements. Page headers/running title can include the title but not the author(s)names. Manuscripts not in compliance with the Journal's blinding policy will be returned to the corresponding author. Use .doc/.docx files. Do not zip the files. Limit the file size to 1 MB. Do not incorporate images in the file. If file size is large, graphs can be submitted as images separately without incorporating them in the article file to reduce the size of the file. The pages should be numbered consecutively, beginning with the first page of the blinded article file.
  • [3] Tables and Figures: Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text but should be included at the end of the manuscript on separate pages. Tables should be created with a word processor and cited consecutively in the text of manuscript and captions/title will be placed above the tables. To ensure the highest print quality (high-resolution), your figures must be submitted in TIF/JPG/JPEG format with a minimum 300 dpi or higher resolutions. Captions/legends will be placed below figures and adjusted to 10 font size. Do not zip the files.
  • [4] The copyright process is now digital to streamline manuscript submissions.

EDITORIAL PROCESS
All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Medical and Biomedical Sciences must be original, not previously published, and not under consideration elsewhere. One author must be designated as the corresponding author for all communication with the journal. All submissions are formally acknowledged upon receipt.
Each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening to assess originality, scientific quality, technical soundness, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Manuscripts with major flaws or insufficient novelty are rejected at this stage without external review.
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are subjected to double-blind peer review by at least two independent expert reviewers. Authors may suggest potential reviewers; however, the final selection is at the discretion of the Editor. Reviewers must have no institutional affiliation with the authors. Manuscripts submitted by Editorial Board members are handled independently by the Editor-in-Chief, and the concerned member is excluded from the decision-making process.
Based on reviewers’ comments, the assigned editor makes one of the following decisions: acceptance, revision, or rejection. Authors are required to submit a point-by-point response to reviewer comments when revisions are requested. The review process may continue until the manuscript meets the journal’s standards.
Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting for language, formatting, and style. Page proofs are sent to the corresponding author for approval and must be returned within seven days. All submission, review, and publication processes are conducted online.
To promote rapid dissemination of research, accepted articles are published online as “Ahead of Print” immediately after final acceptance.

PROCESS FOR APPEALS
Author(s) have the right to appeal a rejection decision if they believe it was made in error. Appeals must be submitted by email to the editorial office, clearly stating detailed scientific reasons for reconsideration.
All appeals are formally acknowledged and reviewed objectively and independently. The appeal process is completed within 2–3 weeks. During this period, the manuscript must not be submitted to another journal.
The final decision on the appeal is made by the Editor-in-Chief. Second appeals are not considered.

AUTHORSHIP CRITERIA
Authorship should be based on substantial contributions to all of the following:

  1. Study conception/design, data acquisition, or data analysis and interpretation;

  2. Drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content;

  3. Final approval of the version to be published.

Funding acquisition, data collection alone, or general supervision does not qualify for authorship. Each author must take public responsibility for relevant portions of the work.
The order of authors should reflect their relative contribution. Changes in authorship after submission require written consent from all authors. If the number of authors exceeds the journal’s prescribed limit (depending upon the type of manuscript), a clear justification must be provided.
JMABS follows the definition of authorship given by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)

Contribution Details
Authors must clearly state their individual contributions to the manuscript. Contributions may include: concept, study design, intellectual content, literature review, clinical or experimental work, data collection, data analysis, statistical analysis, manuscript writing, editing, and review.
The contribution statement will be published with the article.
One or more authors must act as the guarantor, taking full responsibility for the integrity of the work from study initiation to publication.

CONFLICTS OF INTEREST / COMPETING INTERESTS
All authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest related to the manuscript, including relationships with institutions, products mentioned in the study, or competing products.
If any author is a member of the Editorial Board, this must be clearly declared.
All declared conflicts will be disclosed in the published article.
MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
The language of the journal is English. Each manuscript should be typed double-spaced on A4 (8.5" × 11") paper size with 1-inch margins.

Title Page/First Page File/Covering Letter
The Title Page should include the type of manuscript (e.g., original article, case report, case series, meta-analysis, systematic review, review article, letter to the editor, images, etc.), the full title of the manuscript, and a short running title. The title must be clear, concise, and informative.
The names of all authors/contributors should be listed along with their highest academic degrees, designations, and affiliations. Each author’s affiliation must include the department, institution, city, and state (or country) and should be indicated as a footnote to the respective author’s name. The work should be credited to the appropriate department and institution.
The corresponding author must provide complete contact details at the lower left of the Title Page, including full mailing address, office/mobile phone number and email address.
All acknowledgments and Conflicts of Interest should be included at the very end of the Title Page and may include supporting grants, presentations, and so forth. Contributors who do not qualify as authors should be mentioned under Acknowledgements.
Provide the clinical trial registration number with the registry name and URL (if applicable), include a statement confirming that all authors have read and approved the manuscript and meet authorship criteria.

ABSTRACT
The abstract should be structured or should not be structured (unless otherwise specified for specific article types) and limited to 250–300 words. It must concisely summarize the Background, Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions of the study. The background should briefly describe the context and rationale. The objective should clearly state the purpose or hypothesis of the study. The methods section should include study design, setting, participants, interventions (if applicable), primary outcome measures, and statistical analysis. The results should present key findings with appropriate statistical significance (including confidence intervals and p-values where relevant). The conclusion should reflect the main findings and their clinical or scientific relevance.
The abstract should not contain references, tables, figures, or unexplained abbreviations.
The abstract must be followed by 4–6 keywords selected from MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) terms.

INTRODUCTION
The introduction should be concise and provide relevant background information supported by current literature. It should clearly describe the research problem, knowledge gap, and the rationale for conducting the study. The final paragraph must clearly state the study objective and/or hypothesis. The significance of the study in advancing medical knowledge or clinical practice should also be highlighted.

MATERIALS AND METHODS
Please provide concise but complete information about the material and the analytical, statistical, and experimental procedures used. This part should be as clear as possible to enable other scientists to repeat the research presented. The use of subheadings to divide the text is encouraged. Primary headings should be in BOLD CAPITAL LETTERS. Secondary or subheadings should be in Bold sentence case. Third-level subheadings should be in Italicized sentence Case. In the case of animal/human experiments or clinical trials, authors must give the details of ethical approval.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Data acquired from the research with the appropriate statistical analysis described in the methods section should be included in this section. In this part, the same data/ information given in a table must not be repeated in a figure or vice versa. Tables and Figures should be self-explanatory and it is not acceptable to repeat extensively the numerals from tables into text and give lengthy and unnecessary explanations of the Tables and Figures. The discussion should relate the results to the current understanding of the scientific problems being investigated in the field.

CONCLUSION
The conclusion should clearly summarize the principal findings and their clinical or scientific significance. It should be directly supported by the study results and not include unsupported claims. Where appropriate, recommendations for clinical practice or future research may be briefly mentioned.

References
The reference style of JMABS is NLM/Vancouver. All the authors submitting their articles should consider the following points before submitting their articles;

  • References should be numbered consecutively throughout the article, beginning with [1] for the first-cited reference. References should be cited in the text by numerals in superscript in a square bracket. References should be listed at the end of the paper in the order in which they appear in the text.

  • Please consult http://www.nlm.nih.gov/bsd/uniform_requirements.html for the exact style of citing references.

  • List the first six contributors followed by et al. in all references.

  • References follow the ICMJE guidelines. The author’s surname is followed by the author’s initials in capitals without spaces or full stops. All references show page numbers in the format (117-25). Refer to the List of Journals Indexed in Index Medicus for abbreviations of journal names, or access the list from here https://www.nlm.nih.gov/archive/20130415/tsd/serials/lji.html.
